Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt the Sheep Gate. They dedicated it and set its doors in place, building as far as the Tower of the Hundred, which they dedicated….
I was reading this passage one day last month and it prompted the idea that we should dedicate “Ffynnon”.
According to the Christian faith dedication is
“the setting apart of people or things from the ordinary affairs of life and presenting them to God for his service”.
(see Exod 13:2,12; 29:1,22; Num 7:10-11; 1 Sam 1:11,24-28; 1 Kings 8:63; 1 Chron 26:26; Ezra 6:16-17 ).
And so with great excitement we set about a day to do this …..12th November 2016
The morning started a little grey but as the sun came out I noticed it shining behind the larch tree in the garden. The tree literally lit up ! 
Every little tiny needle was laden with dew and as I admired it I had one of those precious moments…..a reminder of God’s goodness.
Dew is a symbol of blessing. It is sent from Heaven and is associated with God’s favor and love …new life….food…refreshment….provision. It’s silent, invisible onset penetrates and brings refreshment without the damage that a mighty torrential downpour can cause.
“dew usually falls in times of low visibility. It falls most generally in the pre-dawn hours, while men are asleep, and at the darkest part of the night. Even in our dark times God is moving. Even when we can’t see the hand of God, His dew is forming and moisturizing in unseen and quiet ways” (Maurice McCarthy, sermon central).
So I felt lifted by the sight of this beautiful tree and the reminder that God was silently bringing blessings and indeed has been doing so even throughout the darker years of life when I felt hopeless and certainly never dreamed that I would be here today, part of my husband’s wonderful dream.
